A Life in Money
Five stages. One lifetime. Every choice carries forward.
Stages in life
The narrator

This one is you. Not a character. You'll move through five moments in a life: eighteen, twenty-five, thirty-five, fifty, and sixty-five. At each one, you'll make a handful of financial decisions. They might feel small. They aren't. The choices you make in your twenties decide the retirement you have. We'll show you how.

What you'll do

  • Type your name and set your starting point.
  • Move through five stages of life, making decisions at each one.
  • Choices compound. Some you'll feel right away. Others will surface decades later.
  • At sixty-five, see how the story turned out.

Why this matters

The hardest financial question to answer at seventeen is "so what?". So what if I start a pension at twenty-five instead of thirty-five? So what if I get income protection? So what if I take the offset mortgage instead of the fixed? This is the answer. Lived, not lectured.
