Can I see my marked exam paper? Access to Scripts explained

You can get a copy of your marked paper after results. Here’s how, and how it helps you decide whether to ask for a review.

Access to Scripts lets your school or college obtain a copy of your marked exam paper after results. Seeing the script - and where marks were and weren’t given - helps you and your teachers decide whether it’s worth asking for a review of the marking. It’s requested by the centre, not by the student directly.

How it works

  1. Talk to your school or college
    Requests for internal candidates go through the centre, not directly from you.
  2. The centre requests the script
    The exam board provides a copy of your marked paper (usually electronically).
  3. Review where marks were awarded
    You and your teacher can see how the mark scheme was applied to your answers.
  4. Decide whether to request a review
    If the script suggests a genuine marking error, the centre can request a review of marking (with your consent).
Common misconception

Access to Scripts shows you the marked paper - it isn’t itself a re-mark, and looking at your script doesn’t change your grade.

Can I request my script myself?
